OU coming in with a late offer doesn’t bode well.

Maybe, maybe not. The question he has to ask himself is he a depth offer for OU or a starter offer. Is he a 3 year starter here at UNT? Is he a career depth guy at OU? I have no idea, but the OU logo is the lone logo like itself. The rest seem like peers outside of SH and UCA. Seeing that, one has to assume that he's a depth offer for OU.

Is that how they recruit, offering "depth offers?" I would think that is counter productive.  You tell every single guy you're interested in that they will have an opportunity to compete for a starting spot.  Let them believe they won't be riding the bench the entire time.

Sure. That's what you tell them. But coaches know, given there aren't surprises, who their guys are going to be. Of course they don't communicate that. If he goes there, I'm sure he's being viewed as a hopeful surprise/depth. Otherwise, if OU is high on this player, this kid would at least garner OSU, Kansas schools, and the inevitable late Texas Tech offer. But that's not happening given his offer list. Bottom line, we NEED him. OU could make room for him. Huge difference.

My point is, we are not competing with a "depth offer" at OU.  OU coaches are telling him he can compete for starting time.  So, we are competing for a kid that legit thinks he will have the opportunity to start at OU.

not good for our chances.

And you are right. And all I am saying is that, given his offer list, the OU coaches are lying to him.
