Definitely an up tempo guy. The question is what type of offense will Hodge employ? He doesn’t appear to be to interested in passing the ball around. Less than 2 apg could be problematic for a 6-0 point guard. I actually liked what little I saw of Christian Moore; the infrequent time he played.

Like what I see and 3 years of eligibility. Don’t see his game translated over in a slow down offense.

agreed on the assists, which is why Edwards looks to me like a great off-the-bench candidate...can handle like a PG, but is out there looking for his offense in spurts.

I liked what I saw of Moore, too...but in those limited minutes he wasn't really looking to distribute either (to be fair, he was out there maximizing his scoring chances in 2 minute end-of-game stretches).

my assumption with the roster as is now we'll see a starting line-up of Rubin-Buggs-Stone-Scott-Sissoko with possibly Moore working his way into the starting five, unless Stone can get that 3-pt percentage up into the mid-upper 30s

Unless a walk on was granted a scholarship, I’m thinking 4 more after the addition of the 3.

we've added four now, the three transfers and Cotton...so if scholarships are still 13 I think we have three to offer

Returning

2. Scott
3. Sissoko
4. Stone
5. Moore
6. Morgan

New
1. Cotton

Replaces Tylor's scoring and then some, exciting find.

At this point, I'd like us to use a three-guard lineup of Jones-Buggs-Edwards to open up some space for Moulaye to work down low, and even Aaron can hang around in a 4-out set. I would have liked to seen us get a slightly taller big, at least one dude 6'10" or taller.

I feel like they this staff will recruit another big man in the upcoming weeks.

I'm told MBB have 2 spots left.

Hodge is still going to make every player get after it on D.  But the secret to a faster pace with that style is DEPTH!  You can run a 7-man rotation at 55 ppg.  What you can’t do is run 7 as hard as we do on defense and ask them to go score 70+.

I agree about Moore. Thought he really looked like a solid D1 PG with his handles, passing, and shooting all being among the best on the team. Guessing Mccasland didn’t trust him defensively, but I hope he sees a bigger role this season.

Rubin running the point with Moore as his back up... I'm cool with that. I can imagine a rotation where Rubin is the point on O and guards the 1-3 on Defense. Edwards and Buggs are gonna be tough to keep off the floor of the starting line up but I think one of them might play the role of designated scorer off the bench like Tylor did his first year. Then I see Allen, Sissoko, and Scott rounding out the starting line up. Sissoko is athletic enough to defend a smaller 4-man and strong enough to bang with a big boy. Allen is probably gonna be on the floor a lot if he commits to playing D. I even think Chrisdon Morgan can develop to give valuable minutes on the block, especially defensively. I am excited about the pieces we have. I think we will see a step forward from Stone and I believe Cotton will be ready to contribute like Scott did as a freshman. This team can be really good and pretty deep this year!
