Last series of the regular season starts tonight! I plan to make it out this evening and Sunday. UNT needs a sweep and Charlotte to take 2 of 3 at home against UAB to take the #1 seed into the conference tournament.

MTSU is 4th in CUSA but still owns the best overall record (33-15). Average conference play compared to us. Took 2 of 3 from LA Tech and WKU but got swept by Charlotte and lost 2 of 3 to FAU. Swept UTSA but didn't dominate, only outscoring them 11-3 over three games.

Plus we have the huge OSU win to keep building from. GMG!

2-0 North Texas after four. Rainey had an RBI double in the 2nd and Nicholson with a solo shot in the 4th.

Peters has been pitching great as normal. 1 hit, 1 walk through four. The only hit came with an out in the fourth, and was quickly eliminated by a double play on the next at-bat.

Phenomenal defensive and pitching effort. Only 3 baserunners for MTSU and two of them were cancelled out by double plays.

Charlotte shuts out UAB tonight. Need to finish out MTSU and now Charlotte/UAB need to split their last two.

On the lighter side. If you turned on the game, you might have a hard time realizing the Mean GREEN were playing the BLUE Raiders

You'll have to forgive MTSU. Their blue uniforms were stolen in Ruston at the end of March. They only have black uniforms for the rest of the season.

Green beat blue today, for the record.

GMG

I bet we wear black tomorrow. It seems like we break out each color once a series.

Also, UAB beat Charlotte today. We're currently tied with UAB for first place but I assume head-to-head is the first tiebreaker which UAB owns. So we need Charlotte to win tomorrow as well as us.

MTSU started the series in fourth place but with a loss tomorrow could finish as worse as 7th.

Does anyone know what the conference tourney bracket will look like with 11 teams?

Only ten teams. The first two seeds get a bye.  On the ESPN+ broadcast, they said --

Double elimination after Day One

1 and 2 - Double Bye

3 and 4 Bye

Day One

(1) 5 v 8
(2) 6 v 7

Day two

W(1) v 3
W(2) v 4

It looks like they have not released a bracket.

We win and Charlotte wins and we win conference.

We win we are no worse than co-conference champs.   If Charlotte wins we are #1 seed also.

Any idea what the painted numbers are in the outfield are for?

The numbers of the three seniors.

CLT wins by run rule over UAB. Gamble had got us back in, but MTSU scores another run to go up 2-1 in the bottom of the 5th. We have work to do.

Peters much more hittable today than Friday, but now we've got runners on the corners with no outs!
