I knew it!   We copied Oregon's feather helmets, now we're caught copying their base color!  Lol

I actually hated the darker green we had in the 90's, like Baylor's.

Our green now is better, but even a little lighter like Marshall's would really pop!  Most think Hayden Fry used lime green, not true, it was darker...more a green apple shade of green.

Couldn’t agree more!  I wasn’t a fan of our shade of green in the 90’s. Baylor’s is way too dark. Like our current shade but like the lighter shade that Marshall uses, pops really well with any color uniforms.

It actually does (although I don't think anyone should be bent out of shape about it)...

https://identityguide.unt.edu/create-our-look/color:
"Our primary color is UNT green, specifically Pantone 356*"

https://communications.uoregon.edu/brand/color:
"

UO Green
PANTONE: 356

"

Scroll down further.  Maybe we have a graphic design member who can explain what the C "Coated" difference means.

UNT GREEN:

PMS: 356C (Pantone Matching System)
HEX: #00853E
CMYK: 100,0,100,33

UO GREEN:

PANTONE: 356
HEX: #007030
CMYK: 96-26-100-15

I’ve been around since the 70s. My question is, “Why can’t we settle on a shade of green and keep it?” I’ve seen kelly green, apple green, hunter green…etc. I have relatives associated with OU, KU, Texas Tech…and their colors never change.

Boys and Girls, I think we have this solved.

Let's use the darkest shade of green we can find. This way, the teams, coaches, and president can all swear they are wearing their beloved black.  And we septuagenarian fans can boast that our colors are still truly green and white.

This is why I am paid the big bucks.

I've actually suggested before that we use a very dark green instead of black as a 3rd/accent color, so I'm honestly all for it. I mean, our early 2000s green looked almost black on tv a lot of the time, anyway.
