It's both easier and harder to get in the NCAAs when you're in a league like that.  Easier because you have more chances against Quad 1 competition.  Harder because it's easier to rack up a lot of losses in a league like that.

I don't know if it's a committee/human thing, or a metrics thing, but in the end I think the selection process favors those that had opportunities.  If you have two programs on equal footing, but one never had a Q1 matchup while the other had a handful of Q1 losses, they seem to favor the latter.
