In ESPN's re-ranking of the Sweet 16 they had FAU at 16. 

In ESPN's re-ranking of the Elite 8 they have FAU at 8. 

The more things change, the more they stay the same. Their favorites are now, you guessed it, Texas and UCONN.

Someone has to be #8!

 

Putting FAU at #16 was an insult considering Princeton was also there, but I have a hard time complaining much about FAU at 8.  I think they can win today (I give them a 40% chance), but I believe any of the remaining teams can win their Regionals.

 

As far as who is my favorite to win it all?  I think whoever emerges between Connecticut and Gonzaga is the team to beat.  Of course in this tournament that means a whole lot of nothing.

The great thing about basketball is it all gets decided on the court. Rankings don’t matter at this point.

Sure. When they make the final 4 they'll be re-ranked 4th. When they make the final they'll be re-ranked 2nd. When they win the national title the AP will somehow plop Texas at #1.

I give us all the credit. We should have beat them twice and those two games prepared them for this.  I expect a thank you note.

This was off a site run by USC fans (well, yahoo re-published it), but it sticks up for FAU and schools like them.

Yeo, some good thoughts there. I think UNT absolutely has the same issues in scheduling as FAU when it comes to what they address in these articles
