Winning is how you build a rep

To some extent. You also have to win the right games though. Johnny Jones used to pad his schedule to make sure he would win 20+ games a year, but it didn’t really elevate the program. The challenge is that the people who are going to defer to the Power 5’s aren’t going to give you as much credit for a run in the NIT or CBI as they would a run in the NCAA tournament.

I'd say JJ elevated the program considering where it was prior.

Yes he did.  Then Benford lowered it back worse than where JJ found it.

I get that these are future AAC mates. I just don’t think post-season success outside of the NCAA tournament is going to do much to bump up the reputation of the league.

Off the top of my head, it seems like EVERY time a team is playing that recently won the NIT, or made a deep run, it is brought up.

these crews are always digging for storylines, and if they have an easy fact like that to upsell the quality of the team they’re covering, they’ll do it.

What??? Post season wins absolutely matter. They shape the future narrative of the programs involved. Current social media is flooded with comments about the group of CUSA schools post season performances, snubbing by the NCAA selection committee, and how strong the new AAC is going to be with them joining. How does that not have value?

It does. It has a tremendous amount of value.

I wouldn't say that.  Trilli was the bottom of the barrel.
