I agree 100%. I think the 4 MWC schools jumping was a tad hasty on their part. (Unless they have insider info)
The AAC, with the best current G6 media deal, can now bring in UNLV, AFA, Nevada/New Mexico/ Utah State wherever they feel they need to go. AFA rumors being confirmed show ESPN is onboard with adding MWC schools to their current AAC inventory. If the AAC teams stick together, they have the leverage over MWC & PAC. I saw someone mention potential SBC schools, ESPN is not going to raid their current inventory and overpay. But the MWC is free game.
We should all stick together and grow into a C2C 18 team league. AAC would would corner the PAC & MWC and be the best G6.
Be gentle and use lots of lube please. This Wyoming team is way underperforming and lost right now. I was excited to start the season but we are in big trouble with this staff.
Very good writeup and love the videos. Obviously the 3 picks blew this game up and we never got to see it, but it seems obvious that we need to be able to get more size on the field against a team like Tech. We would eventually wear down in the second half, even if our offense didn't crap the bed and found a way to keep us in the game. Would we switch to a 4-2-5 (or 4-3, etc?) and get 4 down linemen on the field? I didn't watch the second half of this game and haven't watched the defense close enough to this point in the season. Have we shown any true 4 down linemen looks, yet, this season? And I'm not talking about walking up 32 or another LBer/DB up to the line. Curious what you've seen.
In terms of PAC realignment, UNT and UTSA are better as a packaged deal than standalone schools.
Where UNT lacks in recent football success, UTSA can point to their two conference championships. Where UTSA lacks in basketball success, UNT can point to our recent NIT championship and NCAA tournament win. Taking both schools together expands the TV market footprint to both South Texas and DFW. Separated by 4 hours of drive time, we're natural travel partners. Plus a healthy rivalry is brewing between the schools that has room to grow as long as conference realignment doesn't muck it up.
