I took our extended family to Vegas to see a Titanic exhibit in a ballroom at the Luxor.  To make local travel easier, we stated at the Luxor.  
 

It was awful.  Conditions as described in the UConn story.  
 

And that was about 7 years ago.  I was really surprised a unique hotel arrangement like the Luxor would slip into that condition.

I stayed at the Luxor years ago and it was super nice.  I guess it's gone downhill in the last 20 years or so.

I stayed at the Luxor recently and it was fantastic!

The latest that I have heard is that the team will be staying at the Vdara Hotel and Spa, a very upscale 5 Star MGM resort attached to MGM's Bellagio Casino.

If so, it's an excellent location. It's right in the middle of all the excitement, on the Vegas Strip halfway between Flamingo and Tropicana.

Yep it’s the Vdara. Confirmed not only by Hank but also a team family member.

What a shame.  Stayed at the Luxor on two occasions many years ago and it was fantastic.  First class.  Sorry to hear it’s not very good these days.

The place needs a top to bottom deep cleaning and some professional maintenance.  The design is unique and fits well in the Las Vegas scene, but when I was there the Luxor looked like it was closing the next day.  The “inclinators” still surprise as they lift riders sideways.  Eliminating smoking in this hotel-casino would go a long way toward improvement.

The Shelby Museum and Shelby American are really close to the team hotel.
