I want Coach Hodges to stay here as well, but wouldn't that be poetic justice.   Coach Hodges would be my choice to replace Grant on that sad day when he leaves.

Would be good for him to get that experience. If he works out and McCasland does eventually get hired away, we could have our next guy with a bit of experience. I do hope he waits until the end of this carousel to see what happens with McCasland.

I’d imagine if he does get and takes that job, we’d have our Grant answer. Don’t see him moving on if he knows Grant is leaving and he has the opportunity to lead us instead.

Wow. You are planning to do ASU even dirtier than UNT did with coach Mac. I am impressed.

 

To be clear UNT didn't really do anything wrong when it comes to Mac and ASU, but i feel folks at ASU were somewhat unhappy to learn UNT saw itself as powerful and money-abundant enough to take their coach whenever it wants and then go and execute on it without ASU being able to do anything about it. Said something about the hierarchy of things.

It's the nature of the game. Arkansas State and UNT realize we aren't amongst the top dogs. We're launch pads. If Hodge goes to ASU and succeeds, some program out there will swoop in and hire him away. I'd rather it be UNT than another but regardless it will happen.

and when Ross or Grant are hired away, too bad for us.  Just the way it is.

No idea if this would be the case, but we can't afford another Littrell/Harrel ordeal to happen again. If people in the know that make these decisions even think it might be a possibility, gotta lock RH up. Raise, title change, lock it up.
