Bought a flight and ticket to Vegas for 3/28 to 3/31

@Big Z and I were already talking about this on the way to the game tonight. I am seriously considering it. Especially if they get passed the quarterfinals. That will be the biggest test.

My wife has a work thing in Las Vegas the weekend after (in other words Final Four weekend) that we're already going to.  I'll be in the hotel watching basketball all day Saturday - LOL.

 

I'm trying to see if instead of leaving Friday, we can skip out Thursday and I might be able to see the Final.

 

Of course that is if we make it there.  That's still three steps away.

I figured I'd stay at the Orleans, even though its not as nice. I figure walking distance to the arena is fine. I can always get to the strip easily.

The Casino Royale on the Strip has, or at least they used to, twenty-five cents craps tables. Other than watching the Mean Green open a can of whoop-ass on our opponent, I can think of no better way to spend an evening in Las Vegas.

Should we make it past Wisconsin it's about 90% certain that I'll be there for the Final against UAB or Utah Valley.  We'll cut out early Thursday and hopefully make it to Vegas with around an hour to spare.  Like I said, we were going there on Friday anyway.

 

Unless some sort of emergency comes up, that's our plan.  I think my wife is even more excited about the plan than I am.  Of course that's probably just because she'll be taking off work after about half a day on Thursday, but still.

I am getting there on Monday leaving Friday. Spirit Airlines have some good prices and a round trip to Vegas and back to SA. The only thing they hit you on is baggage.

Posted earlier that I had bought the Spirit Airways Tuesday morning roundtrip returning Saturday morning for $108 total.

It's a great price if you can tolerate the chickens and goats wandering around the cabin.

When I was looking at it, what racks the costs up is the checked fees. Also, I wanted to be able to change the flight if they don't win Tuesday to come back earlier.

I just looked and it is $108 each way. Where are you seeing $108 total?

The Bride just told me it's $115 roundtrip, but you'll have to wait until Saturday morning to return. I've also reserved a van with unlimited mileage so I may do the tourist stuff, Hoover Dam, Weird Las Vegas, etc. on the non-hoops days.

I'm getting there late Monday night and coming back Wed morning. Unable to make the final due to work constraints, but I'll take the semis! Booked an airbnb near the Orleans. 

Flying on Frontier but I've learned how to carry everything in a personal bag so I'm covered.

Big Willie if they don't win, man you can spend another night and see the sites. Remember "what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas".😆

      And camps. Just from Twitter, people claim it’s highly attended, organized, and well run. At the very least, it gets kids on campus and further develops a relationship with the kid/families/coaches. He’s been a positive for UNT.

      Unfortunately, I feel like pep bands all over the country are largely getting sidelined for the DJ music and "Let's make some noise!" kinda stuff. It's definitely not unique to NT.

      Oregon State final thoughts -- game presentation, etc

      Football season ticket holder here that normally starts going to b-ball games once the calendar flips to the new year & my schedule opens up. But since UNT is a #basketballschool now, starting earlier this year. First off, anyone agree with this assessment? When I go to football games I'm just waiting for the proverbial kick to the nuts in the second half. East Carolina was a perfect microcosm of this. Oh look! We're up 21-0!! What are we going to do to blow it? And sure enough, we do. Over and over again. With basketball, I feel the exact opposite. Whether it's Minnesota, Oregon State, etc, what are we going to do to win it? And more times than not, we do!! Clutch, clutch, clutch. Well done team! I love it. Really liked the game presentation too. The only thing I've noticed is it seems the pep band is getting less "air time" if that makes sense at the expense of giving the hype guy more exposure. Kinda an ass-whip if you ask me. "SOMEBODY MAKE SOME NOOIISE!!!!!", "EVERONE SCREAM HELL YEAH!!!!". We can be loud on our own without being told, thank you very much. It s almost like a warm-up act before he heads down to Dallas for his 2nd job at Baby Dolls. With that solid radio DJ voice he can then bark out "EVERYONE SCREAM HELL YEAH!! AND GIVE IT UP FOR DESTINY ON THE MAIN STAGE!!!!". Don't act like you don't know what I'm talking about there. 🤣🤣 Happy Thanksgiving all and Go Mean Green!

      The dislike for Coach O is incredible and this just shows what type of fans we truly have. His job is to get interaction with high school players and coaches and he's done a better job of that than anyone in the history of this school. His job is to get them looking at us and willing to talk to the school and that is happening.
