We were given a 3 seed, interestingly. We would have to travel to #2 Sam Houston State if they beat Santa Clara. However, ESPNU announced Santa Clara would host that game due to a facility conflict in Huntsville.

Our bracket goes:
#1 Oklahoma State vs. Youngstown State
#4 Washington State vs. Eastern Washington
#3 North Texas vs. Alcorn State
#2 Sam Houston State @ Santa Clara

Our game will be Wednesday at 7pm. Definitely winnable, but the name (or lack thereof) will be tough to draw any more fans than what was at Senior Day against WKU.

The good thing is the higher seeds are easy road trips, but unfortunately a NIT quarterfinal against OSU would probably be on a Mon/Tues/Wed. Hopefully OSU gets knocked out before then and we've got a home game for a trip to Vegas.

They said both Ok State and Sam Houston had arena issues.  Construction or just spring break?  Could we host additional games?

I think the main way this helps us.....if we can beat Alcorn State.....Santa Clara has a huge advantage hosting SHSU. So if Santa Clara wins that game.....we'd host Santa Clara in round 2.

I think him mentioning that we lost to Virginia in OT gives some credibility in the eyes of those who only know the “names” in college basketball

Multiple North Texas mentions by Wren, kudos. You know ESPN, it wouldn't take but a minute research to learn Wren Baker was AD at North Texas only a few months ago, a school that's actually in the NIT.

If we don't win the first two games it proves the committees were right.  We shouldn't be scared by Sam Houston unless we need home court to win.
