NMSU placed a recruiting billboard one block from the UTEP campus.

 

UTEP responded on the backside of the same billboard

 

Well Played Miners, Well Played.

Justin Bannister, associate vice president of NMSU's Marketing and Communications, applauded UTEP's response by saying "well played."

 

This is very near the UTEP campus.

I had thought the same thing, but it seems there are different shades of crimson

And this is maroon, which looks a lot closer to what she's wearing on the billboard. Or it's just the sun. Or I'm partially colorblind.

OU wears crimson, Alabama a darker shade of crimson.  I never thought of NMSU as the same color, but they claim crimson as their official color.
