#1 Defense in NCAA D1

We passed Houston yesterday to take the team defense title! UNT finished giving up 55.6 points per game while the Cougars ended up at 56.1 congratulations to the players and coaches. Can't wait for next week. Go Mean Green!

Our defense yesterday was taken to another level. WKU looked horrible, much of that a result of our defense. It was a beautiful thing to see. I don’t get the people that don’t like our style of play. When we are on, it is a beautiful thing to see. The players are so unselfish working together.

It's great that Coach M can get his players to buy in to his system.  Obviously winning lots of games helps but to somehow instill the discipline to not shoot the ball after the first pass (especially in the modern era of basketball) is amazing.  It's almost like they enjoy "toying" with a defense.

I love this type of basketball. Much like what I played back in the day…sans the shot clock.

I went back and watched the replay on Stadium and the color commentator couldn't say enough good things about our defense, Coach Mac and how the effort the players give for this system.
