Cary Lumkes was an avid North Texas alumnus and fan of the Mean Green. He belonged to the Sig Ep Fraternity and graduated in 1994 with a degree in Business and Finance. Cary later became an active and engaged member of the UNT Alumni Association Dallas Chapter Steering Committee while also doing volunteer work for the Collin County Chapter. He was well known among fellow UNT alumni and had an infectious smile and laugh. Cary was also a fan of hockey and frequented Allen Americans hockey games. In addition, he played for the Phantoms amateur hockey team in the Allen Adult Hockey League at the Allen Community Ice Rink.  Unfortunately, we lost Cary unexpectedly in April of 2020 at the young age of 54. We honor Cary's memory annually through the UNT Alumni Cary Lumkes Memorial Night at the Allen Americans.

Administrators:  Cary was a big UNT football fan and that's where many of us know him from.  However, please feel free to move this thread to a different forum if you find this inappropriate for the Football forum.

Is the North Texas game at 3:00 again, and do we know the opponent for Saturday?

UNT beat Texas State yesterday.  East Texas Baptist beat Baylor.  UNT plays East Texas Baptist today at 3pm for the tournament championship!

Well, UNT game was called short due to fighting…in the stands.   Game ended with UNT up 1-0.  Everyone kicked out of the event center and police called in.

Seriously?  Can't take those Baptist out of East TX.

ETBU is in the hood for what it's worth. Marshall is notorious for having high crime rates.

By the way, we should be proud of our UNT Hockey team.  They are a class act.  After everyone had been kicked out of the arena.  The UNT players came outside and personally thanked fans individually for coming out and showing their support.  They also shared their disappointment that we were unable to see them in a complete game without incident.  This was their last game of the season and a bummer of a way for it to end.  If you get a chance to see them next year, take advantage of it.
