My Tournament Predictions

1) We win the CUSA tournament Final over FAU, avenging the loss in the Pit that should never have happened

2) Those that attend the games are going to be thankful, because it will be TP’s curtain call. I am obviously not in the young man’s head, but the way he reacted during the senior night presentation…and the way he hugged his teammates as he came off the floor in the second half…looked like a man who was soaking in the last moments in that arena.

The NCAA tournament is all about matchups and luck. But should we make the Dance, this is the sort of team that can make a Sweet 16 run. I don't think our fanbase as a whole realizes the kind of defense we play.

I like to think the winner of the tournament is coming from our side of the bracket. There are the Big 3:

FAU
UNT
UAB

...FAU is the 1 of the three that I cannot say for certain is postseason tough. I think their season-long toughness and preparedness will get them to the final, but they are not as seasoned as Blazers and UNT.
...UAB and UNT can win this whole thing; one of them likely will. Blazers and Mean Green are very postseason primed. They know that the level of play will level up this week, and both know how to thrive in it.

...honestly, though, it would not surprise me if things transpired in a way that was not at all like the regular season. A valiant run by the Miners. Charlotte goes on a streak. Maybe FIU stings a few people (but I don't think Panthers have what it takes to win it all).

...Blue Raiders will be the biggest bust. The clawed their way to their seed by getting some incredible wins in Murfreesboro, but they haven't impressed at all away from home.

Sweet 16 is when all of the riff-raff is gone and the games get serious. Hope to see UNT there. Would give me a reason to bring out some of the old CK.

I'd say the "riff raff" is generally gone by the Round of 32 and all games are serious then. Almost every year there are heavyweights that go down prior to the Sweet 16.

Grant has this team hitting their peak at the right time. If Kai gets the ankle back to 80%+, this could team could definitely be a 10 seed and make the Sweet 16. If we falter in Frisco, I can definitely see us in Madison Square Garden!

Except the NIT is in vegas this year. No longer at MSG
