Not sure I understand why Sparks is starting at third in front of Donohoe and Epperson in left over Ingle.  Donohoe and Ingle were extremely solid last year.  Epperson has been strong so far, but, as noted above, Sparks is really struggling.

Sparks is an outstanding defensive player. Hopefully here bat will come alive.

I don't disagree, but Donohoe played well there last year.  Maybe bring along the freshmen while also getting our upperclassmen in there as well.

Sparks is supposed to be the big bat they recruited.  She started out batting third or clean up and just has not been hitting.  She did finally get a single in this game, maybe that will provide some momentum. 

If not, than I believe she will have to be benched; NT has too many players that can play a good third and hit to be behind a player in a long slump.
