DRC: UNT WR/TE outlook: A big season from Shorter would elevate the Mean Green in the American

Aune was a fierce competitor and leader, but I predict better QB play this year.

This will help the NT offense more than the added wrs.

However, the receiving corp. should be improved and should be able to be very able to compete in the new league.

An injury-free Shorter would be a great luxury.

If Shorter is 1 on 1 throw him the damn ball!

Yes, but the only route we seemed to throw to him was the go route.  We need to get him running a variety of routes, slants, drags, etc. and really take advantage of his physical ability.

Shorter has amazing tenacity, especially when he gets close to the goal line. He's tough as iron but he does take a pounding. There are times when I think his fighting for additional yardage leaves him vulnerable to more hits with some of them being injurious.

Not meaning to be untrue to my Texas roots, but there may be times when it's beneficial just to step out of bounds.
