What a great way to finish our signing class.

I could see Anderson growing into a KD Davis type playmaker at LB for our new defense. With his speed and athleticism, he could be an absolute monster.

I don't want to put too much pressure on him (although I believe that he could handle it) but I believe that Jayven Anderson just might be our best defensive recruit since Mean Joe Greene.  I hope that we publicize the hell out of his accomplishments.  He could very well be a starter from Day 1, since (I believe) we've lost both starting safeties.  I think that he is a safety because, even with the loss of our best linebacker in several years, that is still a stronger position than safety.  We welcome you Jayven to what was formerly referred to as the P6 conference.  We thank you for selecting us.  It is players like you that can help us get to the next level.  I like the "family" look that seems to be developing among this coaching staff and players.  I think that you will like this university.

This times 1000!!   We finally have a staff that is not satisfied with taking what comes to us.  We finally are selling our strengths.  I will say Seth never complained pubically but he did not elevate our recruiting to be in line with our assets.  We have a LOT to sell at UNT.

I wasn't aware that Seth had pubic issues to complain about, maybe that explains his demeanor at times.

We don’t need to think… He needs to break the 2 deep… when you’re as “highly ranked” as he is, he needs to come in and make an impact.

This take needs to be addressed, as good as it is for the kid, the ratings really don't mean anything in terms of ability.  Just some predictions as to their success probability at the next level, and beyond.   Once he steps foot on campus no one in that LR will give 5 bags of dog**** what he was rated or who offered him out of HS.  They will be working to take the starting job, his job, or help the team compete to be in a position where they can win games.  

 

Don't get me wrong I am ecstatic that he is joining UNT and I believe he'll be a phenomenal safety for us.  Just don't want people assuming because he is highly rated means he automatically jumps in and has to contribute.

      IF we have to keep Morris 🤢

      I can’t get over how the offense just dies all of a sudden. As soon as they lose (or can’t establish) a rhythm they’re obsolete for an entire quarter and a half. (Ex: Memphis when the defense actually held and made them go 3 and out multiple times before the flood gates opene; Army when they couldn’t do anything the whole game; ECU and the abysmal 3rd quarter; heck even against Tulane they were only up by like 3 before the end of the half and got super lucky with multiple short field positions due to mistakes). The statistics for the offense feels hollow. Super explosive but no capability to sustain a slow, clock bleeding drive. Which means short time of possession and longer time for the defense to be out there. I guess live by the air raid, die by the air raid. (And they’ve been consistently dying)

      S.O.S. We made too many mistakes…we didn’t play complimentary football…had our chances…I could’ve called a better play to help us out…defense gave up too much…blah blah blah. It’s the same excuses he puts out there the past 5-6 weeks. Seems to me that all goes back to coaching. All of this is a product he created with his environment and culture. This is what you get when you have a coach that’s inexperienced and doesn’t know how to get out of funks. No proper adjustments and make the same mistakes over and over and over again.

      What’s up with DT Sheffield?

      Didn't he come in a play or two after the DPI call on the 3rd down pass to Conwright? I agree with you though that it was bizarre. I was searching for him on the sidelines and wondering why he wasn't in the game. It's a complete head-scratcher even after sleeping on it.

      Honest tactical question here…

      100% yes. This is the Achilles’ heel of the air raid system. To win consistently with the air raid, a deep defensive bench is needed to keep fresh legs on the field. Otherwise while the offense is high flying, the defense is absolutely gassed come the 3rd and 4th quarters. No disrespect to Mike Leach but I’m over the air raid system. I want to see us run the ball, dominate the line of scrimmage, control the clock, and allow our defense time to rest so they can in turn make stops. This is complimentary football.
