It has to be. I doubt our 5th string RB pulled a scholarship offer from an SEC school

I don’t know, the “#1 recruiting class” didn’t help them win so maybe North Texas 5th string is the new strategy

Congrats Preston, best of luck, Aggies are getting a good one.

For us he was a true freshman who had been 3rd team all-state at the 6A level. Because of our running back depth he only played in one game, against TSU, where he carried 8 times for 60 yards and a touchdown averaging 7.5 yards per carry.

Adaway, Ayodei, Farrar, Jackson, Johnson, and Ragsdale are ahead of Landis, so he was technically 7th string. Can't blame him for trying another place.

I can’t fault Seth or Cobbs for this one. He was a true freshman walkon while they had 5-6 scholarship players in front of him. We rotated 4 regularly that could all start at just about any other G5 school. We have an embarrassment of riches at the running back position and that is something that Seth and Cobbs should get praise for, not blame for.

We had an embarrassment of riches at the beginning of the season, but we were basically down to 2.5 RB's by the bowl game. Ragsdale, Johnson, and a not-100% #39. Landis could have been part of the rotation.....if he was healthy.

They did give him a lot of carries during spring practice.

I always thought he would make his way into the rotation.  The limited times I saw him he looked good.  Best of luck to him.  Does A&M pay walk ons?
