UNT Softball: Softball Named No. 24 in Preseason Ranking

 

DENTON – North Texas softball is ranked No. 24 in the D1Softball Preseason Top 25, the publication released on Tuesday. The ranking marks the first appearance inside the top 25 for the Mean Green in program history.

UNT enters 2023 after its first-ever appearance in the NCAA Regionals last season, finishing with a 37-16 record and capturing the program’s first Conference USA Championship tournament trophy.

The Mean Green are the only team from C-USA listed in the top 25.

North Texas will open versus UIC on Feb. 10 at 9 a.m. at the Buzz Classic on the Georgia Tech campus in Atlanta.

I went to our schedule and noticed we aren't in Baylor's tournament this year. I guess the Lady Bears got tired of being upended at their own tournament!

Seriously looking into making a weekend trip out of their March tournament in Fayetteville...

Going to be interesting to see how NT does with a full pitching staff.

Last year with only two pitchers was nothing short of amazing.
