How good was that Georgia team?

I feel like more people are hopping on the opportunity to talk about how TCU did or did not deserve to be there, but not many are thinking about Georgia.

How good were they?  Better than any of Saban's Alabama teams?

When I think about domination, I think of 2 eras (limiting this to in my lifetime): I think of the mid 1990s Nebraska teams, and the USC teams with Reggie Bush.They were so incredibly good at what they did.  Every knew what they were going to do, and not a single team could stop them.  If you were an opponent, I don't think anything is more demoralizing then knowing exactly what the other team is gonna do, and knowing you cannot stop them.  Knowing you cannot beat the man in front of you.

So, do we need to put the 2022-2023 Georgia team in that convo? Does Smart and Co need to win a few more before this should be discussed?

A bit late in answering, but I do think this Georgia team over the last couple of years is one of the more dominant of my lifetime (of nearly 45 years).  They did get destroyed by Alabama last year in the SEC title game, but before that they were crushing all comers.  And of course they avenged that loss to the Tide in the title game.  This year they annihilated most everyone (Missouri was their only true dangerous game) until Ohio State.

 

And of course they made TCU look like a JV squad.

Thanks CMJ.  I think we need to see one more year of this Georgia domination before society starts talking about them as an all-timer.
