70-70 with 2:22 left in the FAU vs FIU game.

LT is always a tough out. Glad to see the guys step up at the end and send the Dawgs packing back to Ruston.

Is there any reason we aren't more aggressive going to the rim? We lost that lead because we got cold from 3 but kept chunking them up. Add in the missed free throws and we just could not buy a point but at least once you get un the double bonus, you get those two free throw attempts every time. We've already lost two games by going cold from 3 in the second half and it was nearly 3 tonight. Got to get better at preserving a lead.

Good points, GMG Dallas. Scott has been picking up the scoring with his midrange game. And it seems like Kai can do the same, it just hasn’t been consistent yet.  Glad we won.

Why do you think UNT should have blasted Tech? Every game we play is close. Good game, hopefully we'll even the score in Ruston. It's funny to me that people thought Tech would fall off a cliff after losing Lofton to the NBA. We still have plenty of talented players. Also, this league is wide open. There are probably 6 or 7 teams that can win CUSA.

Decent crowd. Much like the FAU game. 

24 and 22 for Tech are ballers. 

Can't claim to be a defensive team and this have that showing. Just enough to hang on. Hardly. Scott is a dude. He's so active around the rim and has a nice stroke when given opportunities. 

We gotta stop letting teams with physical guards bully ball iso our guards on crucial possessions. Rotate to help and leave the weak side shooter open, if they find him and he hits then so be it. That set lost us the game vs FAU and almost tonight. 

Nevertheless, hell of a game. Good time. GMG

 

I also want to add when a team extends their defense to apply ball pressure you have to make them pay, not put on a little dribbler showcase. The spacing is ideal and the elbow cuts and baselines are exposed. Gotta attack and make em pay.  That's all.

Why do I think that? Because we are supposed to be a defensive minded team and we had an 18 point lead. There is no way this game should have been this close after running out to an 18 point lead. Maybe I would not have thought this if the game was close the whole way. We basically shut MTSU down in the second half, but we let LaTech score 47 second half points. Yeah, we should have blown them out.
