Abou's herculean effort, the second best offensive performance of any North Texas player in the past 20 years, was enough to thwart the rally by a very very bad UTSA team and overcome for one night the embarrassing curse of the horrendous trash-bag black uniforms.

Why tempt fate? This ill-advised uniform selection could have caused the same results it did in last year's UTEP game, that shocking upset ruined a perfect 2021-2022 road record and singlehandedly kept us from receiving an at-large NCAA Tourney bid.

How bad was the decision to to switch to meaningless black uniforms? This game's hero, Abou Ousmane, passed the ball to a referee. This incident was reminiscent of the game altering incident when Mason Fine tossed a pick-six directly to a UAB linebacker while scrambling.

Play in our school colors Green and White and this crap just doesn't happen. These constant uniform changes to non-traditional colors cause performance issues in addition to being bad luck and unsightly.

One of the great factors from Abou's performance, is that opponents are going to think twice before game planning with a focus on stopping primarily Perry.

Great coaching job as usual from McCasland, team was obviously prepared for UTSA's strategy.

UTSA is a bad basketball team, the challenge begins after Christmas.
