Question about forum rules/posting

Where does general CFB talk go? If I want to engage is some general college football talk, and there is no immediate connection to UNT in the source link/Tweet, does it go in the Eagles Nest?  Or do I post it in the UNT Football forum hoping for the largest audience?

I am guessing but I would say if its football it would be in the football forum no?  Good question.

If you want to talk about non-UNT sports, that's right there under Eagles Nest.

We do not have a football forum.  We have a Mean Green football forum.  But the largest audience is clearly found on the Mean Green football forum, so can one simply not care about this stuff and just post it there to get more views? If it needs to be moved then let the mods move it.  This seems especially advantageous, because now I would have it in two forums: the Eagles Nest forum and a *moved* link in the MG Football forum.

There needs to be a non-UNT CFB forum. A lot of stuff gets posted in the UNT Football forum that doesn't belong, but since its CFB related people post anyways.

Officially, that is supposed to go in the Eagle's Nest.  But everybody, admins included, has been posting that stuff in the UNT football forum for years.  I'm neither God nor @Harry, but I'd say put it the football forum even if it has some remote relevance to UNT football.

That's where things get hairy.  Does anything and everything in college football immediately make it remotely UNT football?

Former player update at different school? sure
HS scores/news about teams with players that UNT is interested in? sure
New NCAA rule that impacts our program? of course
...Player XYZ at NorthEast University of Untexas gets 13th year of eligibility? Nah, too specific to non-UNT IMO

Non UNT sports should go here for the most part. If it is some how relevant to North Texas showing say a new trend in College football or other, and if its the off season or not it might be fine in the Football Forum. Its at the Mods discretion to move it and we usually leave a link to show its been moved.  @greenminer pretty much nailed it.
