UNT had the ball near the 50 with 1:30 left in the first half and 3 timeouts and we just let the clock run?   I don't understand what the coaches were thinking in that situation.   We only needed another 15 yards to try a field goal.   Bonehead decision there or lack of awareness?   I saw PB yelling at another coach after they finally called a timeout with like 13 seconds left.   Wasted opportunity there that could have impacted the outcome of the game!

Yeah, should have called time outs so that Boise would have had time to have done something other than take a knee.

We had a first down.  Why not move the ball 15 more yards for a field goal?

You need to go back and rewatch that sequence.  Aune’s blocked pass on 3rd down led us to punt.  Had nothing to do with the clock.  If they panicked and started using time outs, Boise may have had time to come back and score before the half ended.  As someone pointed out in the other thread where this came up, leaving too much time on the clock burned us with UTSA.

I don’t have much respect for your “clueless” comment, friend.

I can understand running the clock down but based off Phil’s reaction that wasn’t the plan.  We are at mid field with a good kicker and a defense that was playing very well up to this point. I like our odds!
