That was the best moment of the Olympics so far for me, but I am partial to track. The USA took the gold, silver, and bronze in the 400m with a guy from Texas winning it all.

I think the mile relay is the best event in track, and the USA's prospects look very good in that with tonight's showing.

Jeremy Warner looked so dang smooth - even compared to the other medalists. Not my favorite moment of the Games, but it's up there. I've almost overdosed on the Olympics - all my TV viewing for the last 11 days or so has been the networks of NBC.

Yeah, he had a great stride. All three did, and I commented on that in the final 100. The guy who got second, Otis, they said he was a kicker, and when they hit the last 100 and he was ahead it was obvious he had not run his race, he had no kick left. He lost his smooth stride at the end just trying to hold on to second. Wariner is very consistent, he did a great job of focusing on himself and his race and staying with it. If Otis had done the same, it might have been a great finish. I guess it was the best moment to me because I love track and I haven't watched much Olympics so far, a little swimming and basketball and that's it. I leave the gymnastics watching to Cara, thank God that is over with finally so we can get to some track & field!

My favorite stuff is swimming, but track is close. And I've loved watching rowing, basketball, fencing, and some of the other stuff they've been showing on the cable outlets. NBC has done an awesome job of covering these Games(when you include CNBC, BRAVO, MSNBC, & USA). It's been an Olympic junkie's dream biggrin.gif

Just when I thought that gymnastics was over, they started doing an exhibition with the winners. It wasn't even real Olympics, so why not show some actual events that are going on? Track and field had started then, so we were probably missing out on some good competition.

Anyways, I knew the result of the 400 before I watched thanks to ESPN.com, but it was still fun to watch. I kind of wish that the media would do the old "Mute the television if you don't want to hear the results" thing.

I've had a lot of fun watching volleyball. I started playing some volleyball when I moved to my new apartments, so now I have some perspective on just how good those men and women are in both the indoor and sand events.

I was pissed last night too because I thought gymanstics were over as well. Maybe they are over for real now.

On the days that something happens I want to watch (the 400 and 100 so far) I don't go to espn.com and turn off the radio when they do sportscenters. It's a pain, but track is something you can't know the results of to really enjoy it.

I really felt good for the winner of the 1500 last night, he finally got the monkey off his back and MAN was that a race between the top two. That was two insanely conditioned and talented guys going at it. He earned that gold medal.

The 1500 is probably the best Olympic moment so far...American or otherwise...for me. El Guerrouj being challeneged like that in the stretch, but digging deep was special.

Gymnastics always has that lame tribute after the competition ends, just like figure skaiting does in the Winter Olympics. I knew it was coming, but it still irritated me.

Shawn Crawford looked dominant in his 200 semi, Gatlin won his as well. Is there a 1-2-3 finish in the 200 too?

We did it in the 400, got very close in the 100, and the prospects look good for the 200.

I can't wait for the relays.

Lots of good action today from all over the events(the volleyball comeback was insane). I was really happy for Fani Halkia - more so for the Greek fans than for her. smile.gif

Too bad we're so bad at the longer distances, since I generally enjoy watching those more. Our sprint squad has been very impressive though. We've done pretty decent in the field events as well. Medals all over the place.

The best event in track, the mile relays, were awesome. Our women and men were dominant tonight. The men were amazing, Derrick Brew ran a 43.6 for the fastest split. They won by amost 5 seconds, that is just amazing. That was a great race for both the men and women.

The sprint relay was exciting, if Greene would have had another half meter, he would have won. Their exchanges were poor and it cost them the gold, but the silver is just fine too.

Thanks to these Games, I've developed a 'thing' for Greek women.
