We have no idea what their “in it” motive might be until we ask.  Maybe they want to Lane Kiffin it back to the red carpet, and the only way is to kick ass here.  Who knows?

And I’m sure McCarney’s answer to this question was great. I won’t go into all the dirty details that have been discussed previously, but the man clearly was not in it after the third year and the only downside to that was an almost $2m retirement fund in addition to his regular contract.

I’d be real surprised if keeler put his hat in the ring. He’s content where he is, probably has invested wisely and other jobs don’t give the quality of life he desires

He put his hat in the Texas State ring, why would he not in ours?

At the time a conference championship was pretty high praise, and Simon and Dickey(conference & bowl championships) were in their 40’s when they accomplished that at North Texas.

Schnellenberger was in his 70’s when he started kicking our asses at FAU, and Coker in his 60’s when he started UTSA.  Regardless, for anyone to place an age bias/limit on a coach before knowing their current status and present ability is ridiculous.

Willie Fritz is 62. That didn't seem too old for Georgia Tech to come calling. If they hadn't announced it early and ticked him off he probably would be coaching there next season. Good coaches can coach into their late 60s and early 70s and remain successful.
