Saw this too. Wonder if they come for GMac if Beard is dismissed.

Side note, "attempted murder" is not what people think it is, at least in Texas. It's more about planning an act more than basic preparation but not actually carrying out anything. Beard being arrested for impeding breath won't go any further unless there was loss of consciousness. Regardless he's likely F'ed unless he pulls some strings which wouldn't surprise me down there in Austin.

A lawyer on orange bloods brought the attempted murder thing up only because there was no bond set.

this could easily turn into a firing... just from a first glance, this seems tough to 'fix', based on the specific charge of "ASSAULT ON FAMILY/HOUSEHOLD MEMBER IMPEDE BREATH CIRCULATION"

His lawyer says it was against the daughter's boyfriend. Not sure I buy that.

Can anyone talk about his team's suffocating defense anymore?

A friend of mine in Austin, a UNTer told me it was Beard's "fiancé" and he had been drinking.

Gee, I wonder what Texa$ will do to get her to change her $tory?

He claims he taped the entire altercation that will exonerate him.  Will be interesting to learn the true details of what occurred and how it all plays out.

She had bruises and bite marks.  It will be hard for a tape to explain away those.

Really hard to know what happened without more info. A lot of it sounds fairly weird. Definitely a case to withhold judgment until more is known. if there is video that could indeed clarify a lot. That could still go both ways though. Sometimes peoples reality distortion is strong enough that they don't realize what things will look like on video.

Unless that boyfriend lived in Chris Beard's house, it wouldn't meet the definition of a family member.

very weird that he knew ahead of time he was going to tape it, yet still ended up choking/biting her

unless she staged the whole thing...

Either way, i am questioning Chris Beard's ability to develop personal relationships

Wonder who will hire him next. Seems like a hire a desperate school in Dallas would make.

I don’t understand why a school would need to be desperate to hire a proven great coach with no criminal history.  Guilty until proven innocent has already cost him his dream job, it should not prevent him from getting another one.
