Sure he wasn't good at Auburn, but UNT doesn't conference with Bama and LSU either. And I don't care if he has a quiet personality. I care that he can runs a clean program and wins at a level that places UNT in contention for the AAC title and by association a playoff spot.

With the level of competition in the AAC, our resources, location, and new ESPN media exposure, Harsin should thrive at UNT. The MWC has only sent 1 team to a New Year's Six bowl and it was Harsin's Boise State team. In his 7 seasons at Boise, Harsin's teams finished their seasons ranked in the polls 4 times. Harsin is the only candidate available that has actually proven he can coach a team to the top spot among the G5.

Chris Peterson, also formerly of Boise, could match that.
