I am sure his writing pieces would be great. Like I said. It’s just the podcast that isn’t interesting. Dalton does amazing writing, but podcast is poor… Nick does an amazing podcast. Everyone has their strengths. It doesn’t mean either isn’t fully knowledgeable on the Mavs. Dalton just doesn’t come off that way in the podcast, but he does on his SI articles.

There are tons of high-level production sources out there. You need to get used to the idea that the next generation of coverage is going to involve a ton of amateur/grass roots level efforts. Podcasts. YouTubers. Blogs. Guys that are perfectly fine in their sweats and entry-level microphones sharing a passion with an audience that is willing.

As mean Green family, we need to encourage all of this. Formal news coverage. Grass roots coverage. Coverage in your sweats. Right coverage. Wrong coverage. We should welcome all of it.

Don't be a jackass and shut people down just because it doesn't' fit your mold. You can say you don't like it, but to suggest they should quit is dumb. Especially Brune, who is doing a ton of good things.

Well said. We want coverage but not that kind of coverage because it's not mainstream enough? Offer the guys building their brands some constructive criticism and share their stuff so they can get bigger and churn out higher quality stuff. Then they can become the UNT voices other brands currently have.

I think the university should invest in this then. It’s just my opinion. I love locked on Mavs…. Despise Mavs money ball (think they are just awful). I think for a podcast you have to have a lot going for you including the voice and ability to transition topics.

If you have not ever checked it out, listen to Locked on Mavs. Make sure Nick is on. Isaak Harris is a great writer but he can’t carry the solo podcasts when Nick is out. Together they are perfect. That’s kinda the peak of what I would like to see from a North Texas sports podcasts.

And to add on… it’s his podcast I’m not a fan of. Not any writing pieces I have seen when he did write for the North Texas Daily. Idk if he still does. He should find a partner to help carry the podcast and he can do the writing piece and help with prepping the podcast.
