Owen McCown entered the portal. He's one I'd been waiting to enter. He's a true freshman so he could come in, redshirt a year to learn the new system, and then pick up in 2024. Wouldn't affect somebody else, like Brandon Lewis who will be a junior, from coming in and starting immediately. That is, assuming somebody already on the roster doesn't win the job next year.

wonder if there any Texas players not he current roster who can play want to come home?  We need a head coach soon.  Texas A&M is having a lot of players leave.

I also saw a WR from Ohio State University is declaring for the draft and will not play in the college playoffs.   Wonder how much more of this we will see.

This guy hasn't played in 2 months due to injury and likely wouldn't be ready for the playoffs. He's opting out of the playoffs to focus on recovery for the draft.

Where are you getting info that Lewis has any interest in North Texas? I know he entered the portal, but that's it.

Another poster said in another thread he knows Lewis' family and his dad is pushing for him to come to UNT. Other than that, it's just a hope.

He's from nearby and I'm assuming is transferring because he wants to play. We have an open QB competition are moving up to a better conference. Seems like a good opportunity for somebody like him to earn a starting job in a decent conference playing in front of family.

Edit: frankly the same holds true for McCown. He's from South of Tyler and is the son of longtime NFL QB Josh McCown. Ruder got his MBA so who knows how long he'll stick around for. If he leaves, what's left? 3 QBs? We need more guys.

Good for Ruder getting his MBA and having it paid for.  Think he will go for phd?

A&M has had 20 players enter the portal.

According to Texasfootball.com
A&M 23
UT 10
SMU 5
Baylor 4
UNT 1
