Wish SL nothing but the best but he looked miserable as head coach.  Maybe he takes a year off and spends time with his family and see where life leads him.  OU might be looking for OC after this season.

That kind of thing can happen when your school hasn't had a coach leave with a record above .500 since 1978.

A new coach was the only thing I wanted for Christmas this year. Looks like Christmas came early!!!!!!!

I wish Littrell and his family good fortunes at his next stop, and hope he grows from his experience as our coach. He did some good things here in Denton, but in the end the overall record and the struggle against winning programs was too much. UNT had to make this change to be taken seriously as we transition to the AAC and hope to compete for titles in that conference against the likes of SMU and UTSA.

I'll be increasing my Mean Green Fund contributions for next year. I hope others will too.

I am pretty sure the search has been on for quite a while, but now its official and probably paired down to the leading candidates.

had a far from poor tenure at UNT but wasn't great either. Program ceiling is higher than where it is now with current facilities, conference and salaries.

Not won more than 7 games since 2018.

At one point in 2022, UNT was 10-1 in conference games.

Thinks the job is "very good" and will get a lot of interest.

I liked SL and hoped he would be successful here, but you can't argue with that, especially given that many of those losses were by 20+ points.

The powers that be aren’t obligated to show their hand.  Don’t have to keep loyal fans in the loop.  I suspect that all of this has played out just as they drew it up and has been in the works for some time.  Nothing a surprise to anyone other than possibly SL.
