If everything about the season was the same except our largest margin of defeat was 10, maybe 14 points, I could probably find optimism with the season, but the beat downs are just demoralizing and all too common.

It's our defense that I can't stand.  124th in total defense, 107th in rushing defense, 115th in passing yards allowed, 110th in scoring defense, 123rd in 3rd down conversion, and 127th in 1st down defense.  Arguably the worst defense in the country.  If anything, this is Littrell's crux.  We have consistently been good at moving the ball and scoring points.  We have been absolutely atrocious at resembling a Division I defense the last many years.

Agree 100%.  The defense has been pathetic and I'm sick of everyone praising Phil Bennett all the time.

I know. Makes no sense. He doesn't recruit. And he has a terrible defense. He came as a favor to Seth? Thanks buddy, for the favor.

I think part of the defense problem they are left on the field to long by the offense.. Look at time of possessions in the games.

No, the problem is they can’t get off the field. Like StealthEagle said, they’re 123rd on 3rd down conversions.

I believe both of these are true, which compounds the issue.

I want to think that our D is good but it just doesn't seem justifiable given the way I feel on 3rd and 20+.
