Is Rice bringing their band ?

I what they lack in musicianship, they make up for with a lack of class and sportsmanship.  l'd just as soon they stay home.  

By the way, I understand they're serving potatoes in the HUB Club Saturday.

I seem to remember their marching band being 15 people last time I was at a Rice game in Houston.  They couldn't fill a normal sized tour bus.

I hear they will be dropping seeds on the fake grass so it will spell Rice in the spring.

The MOB (Marching Owl Band) used to be lots of fun .  Always small, but full of entertainment.

I'd kind of like to see the MOB.  If they can get the seeds to grow on artificial turf then no wonder their Research Department is Category/Division I.

Rice's school of music is top-notch.  Just as with ours, I'm not sure how well their marching band actually reflects it, but we might as well have two great music programs represented whenever we play each other.

Not a fan of the MOB. Back in the 70's and 80's they had some quality insults. Now their attempts to be witty always seem to fall flat. I think their day has passed. In their current form they appear more like a small collection of vagrants, than an edgy halftime show.

The MOB is a shadow of what it used to be.  From what I can tell from going to the FB & BB games at Rice, most of the members are from local high schools or even middle schools, with possibly a few alumni band members.  I doubt there are more than a handful of actual students, and I wonder if any of them are music majors.

if they do bring them they will be playing to an empty stadium.  Rain is now expect am to late afternoon.  Not good for hard weekend for fans to begin with.
