Former player in custody. I don't know the circumstances but horrible for all. Not to make excuses for his alleged actions but some of these players really struggle mentally from all the head injuries. Wonder if that played a role here.

So, here's a quiz for all you. Whose job is it to teach/model stress management to kids, teens, and young adults?

Do you think that, more and more, those people are teaching/modeling de-escalation to the aforementioned kids/teens/young adults? Or do they teach/model stress management by going out and buying guns?

Very tragic. I read that 1 or all of the victims involved were apart of snitching on the suspect for X reason that led to the suspects dismissal from the football team. This wasn't random, but vengeance it appears. Nevertheless, very tragic stuff for that community and certainly that football program.

Whatever the reasons, whatever the circumstances, this is highly tragic. There may be things we as a society can and ought to improve on, but I am not sure any community is fully safe from such things. Sadly, that does not lessen the tragedy of it at all.

1.  Their parents.

2.  I think most parents teach and model de-escalation in a traditional way.  There are obviously outliers, as there are in any data set.

It's their parents', of whoever raises them and fills the parental role, job to teach that. Anybody else involved in developing kids, such as teachers and coaches, should also play a role. Sometimes, people just make bad decisions regardless of their upbringing. Somebody can have all the tools and yet still mess up.

I wasn't trying to make an excuse or plave blame; simply wondering what happened to get him to this point.
