Wilson has 1,903 rushing yards in the NFL after 4.5 seasons.

It makes me wonder what former UNT running back has the most in the NFL.

An alumnus from my era, Erric Pegram, had 3,398 in seven seasons.

Wilson has already passed Pegram in touchdowns, with 16 rushing and 5 receiving. Pegram had 13 rushing and 1 receiving.

Haynes has 4630 rushing, 3535 receiving. Pretty sure that's the most.

Pegram #2, Wilson now #3.

Was that for the AFL and the NFL?  Because Abner didn't play that many games in the NFL and he was in the twilight of his career when he played in the senior league as I recall.  He was still the best running back/receiver to ever play pro ball that came from North Texas.

It's for both. When the NFL-AFL merged, all AFL records were recognized by the NFL. So any AFL records are considered part of NFL history.

Forgetting Abner Haynes is embarrassing.

He's also the NFL's leading rusher born in Denton, ahead of Walt Garrison who had 3,886.
