There are three things that worry me about this game.

Their RB, by far the best back we've seen this year. He's averaging 161/game and 7/carry.

They need two more wins to be bowl eligible with three games left and one of those games is against LSU, so they need to win this game. So, their backs are against the wall.

Last, this is their last home game, so it's their senior day. Another bit of extra motivation. They are going to come out with a fire lit under their ass.

If we can keep McBride from getting too crazy( around 150 yards and no more than 2 TDs) and weather the early storm, I think we will win.

But....this game gives me a bad feeling.  We're banged up and I think it catches up to us.  We lose 34-31.

Maybe if Adeyi, Shorter and Blair are good and playing close to normal we can pull it out.

If Aune is around 60 percent completion then I like our chances.
I am curious if we will try to stop the run or if we concede that their RB is going to get his and not let them beat us with the pass.

The old Aune returns and is under 50% again (plus a key fumble), so the running game dies and we lose again.

I feel like we are talking too much about Aune, and not enough about our defense allowing a ton of 3rd down conversions

There were quite a few times when Aune nailed a receiver & had it dropped.  I’m more along the line of halftime adjustments we’re made by UAB & NT couldnt counter.

22 minutes time of possession. Ironically, even when we score we do so quickly and our defense doesn’t rest. We were again short on sustained drives.

It was almost worse.

On our second possession of the third qtr, we were facing 3rd and 3 and Aune got the first with a 6yd run.  If he didn't get that, we were looking at running only 6 plays in the whole third qtr.

Getting the first allowed us to hold the ball into the 4th qtr, but that's the drive that stalled with us down 6 and a punt for 18 yds.  It was over at that point since (like MGT said), they had made adjustments and we didn't.  Of course, that's not the first time that's happened the past several years.
