Opening round match vs. WKU is currently in the second half with about 34 minutes left.  We are up 4-1.

5th seeded FAU beat 4th seeded La Tech and 8th seeded Charlotte whipped #1 Rice 4-1. This sets up perfect for us if we play well.

Charlotte is playing at home.   But that’s no reason to whip Rice like that.

If NT drops any of the remaining games, it would be a colossal failure.

That’s a standard.

Then, we’ve seen it time & again, be ready for NT to get an unusually tough draw in the tournament, hang extremely tough against a top 10 team, and have people show up asking for Hedlund to be replaced.

Hedlund needs to up NT's game.  I think he benefited from other schools lack of focus on women soccer for decades.  Now other teams have caught up.

IMO he has to focus more on recruiting.   He build his record by taking mostly second tier metroplex players.  Those not recruited by P5 teams and he has a lot more competition for those players.

He (NT) has slowly started recruiting other areas than just the Metroplex,  He also seem to be relying more on transfers from P5 programs.  Signs that area high school recruiting is not what it used to be.

Other teams are also investing more in their programs in terms of recruiting, coaching and better facilities

Hedlund has been coach at NT for 27 years, it is only natural if his enthusiasm for the game has waned.  He has single handedly build the best athletic program in NT history.

The knock on Hedlund on this board has always been he can't advance past the conference level.  I thought that point was invalid because winning league championships is a great accomplishment.

I hope NT gets it's soccer magic back and Hedlund can go another decade or so.
