Still one of the OCs - He just moved to TEs and they have another coach handling QBs. That move has not worked to well.image.png.fa62e074fe519c92707d09777901a252.png

As a big fan of second and even third chances, it’s inspiring to see Durkin move from helping kill kids to just helping slowly kill rich programs.

I don't think he ever called plays. I could be wrong, but I think that's part of the issue in College Station right now. He has too big of an ego to change his archaic offense.

Didn't he throw the ball like 40 times a game during his tenure at Memphis or are college football seasons just all melting together in my brain at this point?

A&M can easily buy him out if they need to

I am hearing his buyout is $86 million. If that's easy, then so be it, but it has got to hurt even for A&M. Now I don't feel so bad for our buyout if we move on from SL. They paid Jimbo all that money to do no better than what Sumlin was doing.

I wish I could find the study from about 10 years ago. Someone studied the records of FBS teams that replaced a head football coach with the goal of winning more games within the next 2 years and sustaining that. The study showed over a ten or more year period that worked about 40% of the time if I remember correctly.

No they can’t. They are stuck with him for awhile.

You’re don’t understand the amount of money they have. My grandfather was a TAMU booster 1970s-2000s and I can promise you they had and still have the money for essentially anything. We know some current boosters who can tell you just how few people it would take to pay the rest of his buyout. Hell one family made a $25mil donation last week like it was nothing. They aren’t stuck whatsoever

For A&M, $86mil is nothing to them. The people we know who are still boosters can easily explain just how few people it would take to pay off his contract

The head coach is only one part of the puzzle.  Like the NFL, an elite or upper level QB in college is also a requirement to be successful.  Quality PK doesn't hurt either!

I know this is a bad old dad joke, but that’s proof they have more dollars than sense.

They will not buy him out at that kind of contract.  They just wont.

I think this is very true for them. Their QB play has been abysmal
