I’ve come to the realization that our best case scenario is for us to win out and have SL be hired away.

I mean the dream scenario is that he wins out and we win the rematch with UTSA and gets his first conference championship.  I can see him and Wren giving each other a huge bear hug in the middle of the Alamodome.

The real life scenario is he will get beat bad at WKU on the road, beat FIU at home, lose to UAB on the road and barely beat Rice at home to qualify for a shitty bowl that he will lose.

6-7 would surely get him fired…although I really fear a 6-win threshold gets SL an extension and the AD gets more Lovelace cash to pay bills and bonuses.

You also claimed the Lovelaces were part of the group that gave RV a lifetime contract and would never fire him…

Man that sounds very familiar, almost like I have lived that season 3 times before.  Not possible right?  I mean only in the Twilight Zone would fans be cursed with coach mediocre mumbles for the better part of a decade, right?  😨😰😱

That's honestly how I see the season playing out though Rice is truly a tossup now. Either way, if the season plays out like this, no way he is still here next year.

Staying beyond 2018 is lifetime to you? Because that is what you claimed above.

I dont think his job hinges on winning a bowl game, because the end of December is to late to start a coaching search.  I dont think its in Littrell's hands anymore, I think it depends on what other potential coaches become available.

Rather than admit you were wrong about RV before and you might be wrong this time, you poo poo on a dude who did a simple board search, and then re-affirm your insufferable position as the Eeyore of Mean Green athletics.

I did admit that I never thought RV would leave back when he did--back when I thought we had made an awesome hire in Seth Littrell, too.

Want me to admit it again right now? I never thought I'd see the day that the UNT 17 would get tired of being fleeced and that he would get fired in the way he did. We made a solid hire with Wren Baker, I know that.

I think that if you find me insufferable, then you should ignore my posts.

      UNT Basketball's Wright Makes Game Winner To Seal 18-Point Comebac

      DENTON — Atin Wright hit a game-winning 3-pointer to cap off an 18-point comeback as the UNT men's basketball team opened American play with a 78-75 victory over reigning league tournament champion UAB at the Super Pit on Tuesday. North Texas (10-3, 1-0) trailed by 18 in the final seconds of the first half and went into the break down 17. Early in the second half, the Mean Green locked in defensively and went on an 11-0 run to chip away at the deficit. Senior Latrell Jossell buried 3-pointer after 3-pointer, finishing with a single game season-high six and ending the game with 20 points, his 10th career 20-point game. With 3:57 left in the game UNT captured its first lead since early in the first half as senior Johnathan Massie finished a layup to put North Texas up 71-69. The game went back and forth from there on out but the final shot belonged to Wright who sank his contested 3-pointer as the clock hit zero. Wright finished with a game-high 22 points and was 11-11 from the free throw line. "It really was a tale of two halves," head coach Ross Hodge said. "We've competed with these guys a lot through the years and it's hard to explain just how physical they drive the basketball and how aggressive they are. We locked in defensively and started grabbing rebounds and getting stops." Next up for UNT will be a trip to No. 21 Memphis on Jan. 5. The Mean Green are aiming for their first road win over a top 25 opponent since 1971.
