Seth hired him away from Denton Ryan and I don’t think anyone expected what we’ve seen from his unit!  Coach Cobbs has been essential in recruiting and developing talent.  UNT has 4 backs that are all capable of starting at any school in this conference…and probably in the AAC.  Cobbs has FORCED Seth to completely change the offense and live with it!  He deserves a raise, and potentially a big promotion.

There are two coaches I want retained if we get rid of Seth. First is Cobbs, second is Phil. I don't know what his ambitions are, but I would love to give Cobbs a shot at OC or HC one day.

I think it's safe to say that if Seth goes Phil will not be back. Their friendship is the only reason that PB is here

Honestly wouldn’t be sad at all if/when PB leaves. Little too old school for me.

Coach Cobbs is doing an amazing job with his guys, no doubt.  And he did get a title change/promotion this past offseason.  Regardless of what happens above him, I hope he stays here.

But there’s an old adage about a dominant run game:  If every one of your RBs can run the ball successfully, you have a great OL.

No doubt Coach Bloesch & coach Clements are really great OL coaches.  We’re fortunate to have both of them.  And what they’ve (mainly Bloesch) developed, especially on the interior, has been really fun to watch.

With Coach Cobbs’ trajectory, the sky is the limit. Through injury and adversity, I’ve been so impressed with our RB room the past few years. The man had a successful career in the NFL, is a UNT legend, and loves Denton. This is the type of coach I want to build the program around. His resume speaks for itself and recruits can’t deny that with hard work, a path to the NFL is possible though UNT.

Pay the man well and keep him here. He has what it takes to be an OC or HC. I hope he gets the call sooner than later.

Absolute home run of a hire. Legit 4 deep unit that I feel comfortable with any one of them in the backfield. I got to meet Cobbs after the Ark win and he was so fired up. You can tell he loves this university. Whatever happens, I hope we find a way to keep him around.

I  think many of you are spending your wheels.  A new head coach is highly unlikely to agree not to have full control over staffing.  There is a remote change he may want to maintain a member of the old staff for more continuity but he will make that choice.

By the way if the NT continue to improve, it will not be a question unless Littrell leaves for a better position.
