There are great players in Texas, but great coaches don't limit themselves. They find the best players no matter where they are. Plus Coach Delong coached at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN so he has some ties to TN and probably knows the landscape.

As a fanbase and our athletic programs (Golf and Tennis notwithstanding), we are way too myopically-focused on Texas and "Texas ties" probably to our detriment.  Yes, Texas is a great state with a large population and a ton of athletic talent, but there is a whole world of talent beyond our borders that, historically, we have ignored.  I'm glad we are finally opening up our recruiting efforts to include a much larger talent pool (nationally and internationally).
