This peaked my curiosity... It looks like Amtrak lists the trip at 10hrs. The price is cheap for coach non refundable tix, but why would you pick Amtrak over one of the hipper Greyhound-esque bus services like Megabus or Flix who do the trip direct in 5.5hrs? Are you a train fan? I've used Acela in NE corridor before and it's nice, I've heard horror stories about Middle America trips on Amtrak though.

I personally would have taken Vonlane if it had been an option. We're probably just going to drive. SWA and AA were both impressively expensive with short notice.
