Georgia Tech fell to 1-3 after Saturday's 27-10 loss to UCF. The team also lost 42-0 to Ole Miss and 41-10 to Clemson to open the season.

Collins is 10-28 as Georgia Tech coach after arriving from Temple. Stansbury has led Georgia Tech's athletic department since 2016. He hired Collins and brought him back after a disappointing 2021 season.

Collins will make approximately $3.3 million this season and has three years left on his initial contract with Georgia Tech.

I still think that job is a great one. Yes, you are competing with the SEC and ACC Southern powers for recruits. But you are in Atlanta, surrounded by a ton of talent and you play in a league that you can compete in, unlike the SEC. Add in the fact that they're AAU for academics, Georgia Tech should be a player for a seat in the Big 2 one day--if they get their athletics right. They haven't been good at football or hoops for awhile now.

Georgia Tech was in the SEC at one time.  Correct?  As was Tulane.

Yes to both. Tech left due to the SEC's  "140 Rule", which allowed colleges to over-recruit. The 140 Rule stated a college program could only have 140 football and basketball players on scholarship at any one time, but the teams were still allowed to sign up to 45 players a year.

I will say that Wren better be careful what he wishes for. This whole waiting for coaches contracts to expire at the end of the season instead of outright firing them for poor results won’t fly at other levels

If you believe UNT has money to burn, then this is valid
If you believe UNT does not have money, and thus cannot afford buyouts, then that means Wren can walk into a room and explain the difference in resources.

Bakers staying -- He needs more successes here first before he jumps to P5 with some splash. He needs to "right the ship" in this football program - we won't cut Seth before when the money drops as we don't have money to burn but don't think there could be some inquiries floating around either.
