I guess you think it would help coverage if the beat writer had limited access to the program and played like he was reporting on the Ukraine war.    

He did respond. He said he doesn't give a damn about Brett Vito's job security. He cares about appropriate questions being asked at the appropriate time whether it is good or bad. The job of a journalist is not to HELP sugar coat mediocrity, but to establish a platform (which Brett has done) and to ask in-the-moment questions pertaining to the current event or state of what he covers (Which Brett sort of does when it's convenient to his job security; <---which in lies the point of yalls bickering).

And they are not going to dismiss the local newspapers only sports writer that covers UNT regardless of the questions asked. The athletic department would fall under more fire. However, they just might not be as friendly or forthcoming. But, at this point, who cares? I guess Brett does, because of the whole job security thing. Brett would get more clicks if he started throwing zings and zangs rather than friendly questions.
