We are literally announcing today that we've fully funded a $100m plus expansion and renovation of Ford Stadium.  It took all of five months to fully fund the project.  We've also fully committed to paying every player on our roster as well as a separate grassroots NIL that will specifically target transfers.  This all while undergoing a near $2b capital fundraising campaign for the university as a whole.

The money isn't going anywhere.  If anything Sonny was probably the catalyst to get the athletic department, billionaire donors, and grassroots donors all aligned and rowing the boat in the same direction.

There will be no G5 school (and many P5's) that will be able to match up financially with what is on the horizon at SMU.

Sonny saw Smut for what we all know it really is....

Yes, we have oil men out there.  The problem is that there is very little passion from the football program, which does not attract large donors at this point in time.  Wren needs to lay out an exact plan to crawl out of this mess.  I think he will do so.

That’s a good point.

The two articles above lay out in detail that SMU boosters were so hurt about Dykes leaving because they felt like they had a winner for the first time in a long time. They threw their support behind him in a way they hadn’t other coaches because of it.

If we make the right hire, our money might begin to be activated in a way it hasn’t before. If Fuente is the guy, we could see a serious “call to action” from Wren.

You guys act like UNT alums don't have any money, if that's true, what the hell are you selling?

Does a program that has won 38% of its games over the last 6 head coaches and usually lets them go only when it’s affordable SOUND like we have money??

Your Southlake life and SMU love is blinding you.

I truly do not understand the rush by SMU to get rid of the grassy hill area.  The final product will allow the stadium to look emptier than it does now but with a few more sky boxes.

There’s that pride, that arrogance we all expect from the Methodist school.

The pride comes before the fall. Never forget that.

The game is coming up at 11am on ESPNU - I plan on watching it.  Pulling for SMUt.
