SMU lost by a TD to a middle of the road Big 10 school.

UTSA lost by 20, but they played Texas very close for most of the game.

Tech lost by 14 to a top 25 NC State.

We lost by 30 to a 2-10 Mountain West team.Dunk Fail GIF

But I thought SMU was going  be a top 10 ranked team and go undefeated. And that was the only reason we could not play them as well as Lamar.

Calling Maryland middle of the road is generous. I’m surprised SMU didn’t win that game.

7-6 last year, that’s middle of the road in my book lol.

This thread typifies North Texas Fan. As long as others are doing bad that is supposed to lighten what's happening to us. As I've said before someone here seem happier when others have problems than concern that we do

But 3-6 in Big 10 play. They’re a bad P5 that gets bowl eligibility by beating G5s in OOC.
Makes our loss to SMU look worse than it already did.

Fair enough. Either way we suck.

Always celebrate a Smut loss!     But you can go cry about it if that's really how you feel about them...

Who gets let go first, Houston HC or UNT HC?

Seriously?   UH was 12-2 last season and finished ranked #17 with a Bowl win over Auburn.  Seth would get a lifetime contract if he ever did that at NT.

Plus UH just extended Holgorsen last season  thru 2027 at $4.2MM per year.

some schools have higher expectations than UNT.

Houston is 1-2 right now. losses to Kansas and Tech. Their fans are ready to get rid of him. At UNT would say we played them close and are happy or so it seems.

No, it was definitely a total disaster.
What happened with those other schools is tertiary & has no bearing on the issues over on Bonnie Brae.

Exactly and the vast majority of Mean Green Fan have to accept that reality and focus on whatever little thing we can do to reverse this trend.

Seth is the 13th head football coach of North Texas I have seen coach.   I would like to see at least a couple more.   One thing that occurs to me during these times of angst about the situation is really how little input fans have.

Other than our attendance or donations we don't offer much assets to the decision.  We used to vent with letters to the Prez, but now just post on message boards, not knowing if anyone of importance really reads them or even cares.

In the end, all non-alum coaches and administrators eventually leave and go other places, usually forgetting about NT other than a line on their resume'.  We lifelong fans are the true custodians of the program, left to carry on the business of passion for the program until the next overseer gets hired and shows up.
