Huss Leaving High Point To Be Creighton's "Coach In Waiting"
McDermott is 60, and has been at Creighton since 2010. He has led Creighton to 10 NCAA Tournaments. He only makes $1.4mil there, surprised some Big 10 team didn't try to money-whip him away. Maybe they did? Huss played and Creighton (1997-2001) and was an Asst coach there (2017-23). He just signed a contract extension with High Point last month (March 6, 2025). No details on his salary. Guess extensions are meaningless these days? -

I actually like DeLong and I appreciate what he's done for our program. But we've reached a point where he needs to take it to the next level, or find a coach that can. Just my honest take on our situation. -
