▶️ At North Texas, we let any SMU game of any season dictate how we feel about sex in general, our family dog, quality (or lack thereof) of our hair cuts & the state of our country. Look how many today want to jump ship because a school who had 17 friggin’ P5 transfers kicked our ever’lovin’ arses with a brand new team even SMU fans had to have a roster list to identify their latest new heroes.
SMU pulled on us what we pulled on them in 2018. We just don’t get enough of those & with NIL (an SMU fantasy come true)...will we ever?

You do realize that SMU will be in the same conference as us next year right?

And that conference will have teams at the same level and better than SMU, right?

And that if things don’t change fast around here that we’re looking at a Todd Dodge like record next season, right?

Such 1970s thinking that TV dictates the gate. People in DFW flipping between 4 channels with their rabbit ears, one of those channels just happens to be CBSSN.

Reality is nobody knows what CBSSN is or actually gets it.

It’s a shit product from the parking to the fan shop to the play on the field. It’s amazing it was 25k. Won’t be seeing that again for a while.

Well, I know one of our best all time Mean Green fans stayed home to watch the game on TV.  If he would do that, I think others would too.  Who cares now—game is over.

This was my experience.

Also, why wasn’t the corner end zone scoreboard/monitor showing stats or anything besides the team logos? That monitor seems to always have issues. In the past it either stopped updating the stats it showed, or was showing stats from previous games.

The worst part is, like nearly all of our gameday issues, if an issue exists then you can be damn sure it won’t be fixed throughout the game.

Just out of curiosity, when were people being told the blue lot was full? I didn't get to the lot until about 6:45, the attendants were sitting in chairs off the road, but while the lot was more full than usual there were still spots to park in the back.

If you kept watching the corner end zone video board it would occasionally scroll to game stats......from last year! Leading rusher: Torrey, tackles: Novil, Murphy. I couldn't believe it.

Also the grassy areas between the athletics center & indoor practice facility were ankle high & needed to be mowed. Not a good look for visitors coming on campus.

Geez. I missed that, and hopefully most other people did too.

In 2020, our last game of the season was against UTEP and that board was still showing stats from the SMU game that had been played nearly 3 months prior. First game of the season last year against Northwestern State it completely stopped updating in the first half.

Those are just the two I remember off the top of my head but I know they aren’t the only ones. Problems happen, but our inability to get these issues corrected in real time is embarrassing.

Embarrassing.  Are we understaffed?

This would not fly with me. We waited in the blue parking line for probably 30 minutes, but I would’ve been pissed had we gotten there and been turned away. We always pre-purchase our blue lot passes. Are they letting people purchase blue lot passes at the game upon arrival? I thought they stopped doing this at one point, but maybe not. That’s not really logical, especially for people who purchase parking ahead of time. I have my pass, so I shouldn’t be turned away. Unless they oversold this lot with people who bought in advance? Which I feel like has never happened.

From the time we exited North Texas Blvd. we waited 1.5 hours to get in, missed the first 10 minutes of the game.

Also agree with @jazzer88, store has been complete disaster for several years, no new shirts, hats, hoodies.  I used to look forward to a new sideline polo every year, I’m still wearing my 2019 polo.

We were told the blue lot was full and to park in the red/yellow lot. Worked out okay since it was closer to kickoff and after sitting in all the traffic, we just wanted to get in the stadium in time to see the team rake the field.

Was this a new pre game tradition? We missed the raking of the field as well. Are leaves brought in? Donate? How does it work?

Lol, thanks for pointing that out. I edited my original post.

Hey it sounded exciting! Maybe it should become a tradition to bring back the winning at apogee.

The spirit shops were a joke. I figured partnering with Voertman’s would be an improvement…not so much. And I went to Voertman’s before the game and their store was no better. I’ve never seen it so understocked. I get the supply chain issues causing problems last year, but it doesn’t hold as much water now.

We just got back from the game. If any of you wonder why Denton doesn't support this team, tonight should be the answer.

Nevertheless, here are two gripes:

1) We walked straight into the UNT merchandise store ready to buy, and all they had were some golf shirts, a few hoodies, and some t-shirts. My wife says, "they don't even have any women's wear." WTF? The selection was absolutely pitiful for a gameday store. It's not "supply chain" issues either, it was this bad last year. A stadium full of customers but no compelling merchandise? Only at UNT.

2) I had to wait for my wife, so I sat at Alumni Pavilion around 6pm. Not a soul there. Some folks walked up and said, "It looks like nobody uses it." After the game . . . completely dark. For the life of me, I don't know why UNT doesn't use this great facility. It's got a good outside seating area and is in a great location, but it's completely under utilized. Why not light it up after the game and invite folks to come on in and have a drink after the game? Maybe invite some alumni over? Nope. Once again, UNT doesn't exploit opportunities for a better fan experience. Sad.

1.  Agree.  Voertmann’s Store is the same. Why let them run it when they have run that store into the ground. Stadium Store is a waste.
2.  I waited in the Alumni Pavilion for part of our group to arrive. It was actually busy early, but around 5:45 or so, people started leaving to get in the stadium for the game.

Yes, they were letting people pay the blue lot fee at the lot. I came to the lot on Bonnie Brae after waiting in a long line and the only people attending that entrance to the blue lot were cops, who did not care for the explanation that blue lot passes were prepaid. They just told us our only option was to go to the orange lot.

Grass all around was tall and tons of weeds.

They have polos, in size XXL and Medium... half the things there aren't large or XL which is very disappointing.

And by then, it was pretty much over.    That's just awful.   You must have been furious.

I tweeted about this thread and major concerns I had, and UNT just responded.

That bottom flag in the pic. I saw a guy with a cap that had that logo at the game Saturday. Where do you get those?

His name is Logan, he was with UNT Football a while ago, and his wife made the flag. I asked the same question, it is awesome!
